The Endless Process
Alnus Glutinosa
A man buying wood leaves a vast amount of alder, aspen, and rowan unused. The workshop has all kinds of waste material lying about – pieces of plywood, mixed blocks of wood. Mr. Kukkapuro walks with his eyes open, seeing possibilities in everything. He knows and feels a momentum coming on, like back in the day when he was making the Carousel Chair. He’s always been conscious of ergonomics. Right now it's all about ecology. Black alder – Alnus glutinosa – and CNC-machinery is the way to go. Let’s mix it all. Let’s make something ecologic, ergonomic, economic. The process is endless, the designer keeps working on the idea over and over again. It’s never finished. Here and now, we are at this point.
