Korvenranta Oy, together with Projecta Oy and HOMAG Group, has concluded a long negotiation process resulting in the largest investment in Korvenranta’s history.
For decades, Korvenranta Oy has been a trusted partner in contract manufacturing. Our production covers, for example, furniture for nursing facilities, shops, offices and public spaces, as well as components for the vehicle, boat, and construction industries.
The company took its first steps towards specialising in contract manufacturing in the 1960s, when we also produced interiors for Kantaravintolat Oy. Our reputation as a reliable and professional partner grew throughout the 1970s, and today Korvenranta is widely known and respected in its field.
We are now investing in a new edgebanding cell that will quadruple our current edgebanding capacity. This significant increase is enabled by full automation and flexibility for a wide range of products. For example, a batch coming directly from the nesting process — with components of various sizes and colours — can be edge-banded stack-to-stack without manual handling. Batch changeovers are quick and can be completed during the work cycle. The new cell can handle everything from 3-metre tabletops to small drawer front sets. According to customer requirements, we can apply either invisible and hygienic zero-joint edgebanding or a more affordable yet moisture-resistant PUR gluing.
The machine’s suitability for Korvenranta’s needs was confirmed through visits to the HOMAG Group factory in Schopfloch, as well as to carpentry factories in the surrounding area. The investment has received funding from the European Union’s rural development programme.
